Man stabbed in Glasgow as police probe broad daylight attack

A man has been stabbed in broad daylight in Glasgow sparking a major police investigation.

Police were called to Henrietta Street in Scotstoun on Wednesday. The alarm was raised at around 2.30pm.

A 39-year-old man was found at the scene with 'stab wounds' and was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Medics describe his injuries as serious but non-life threatening.

Greater Glasgow Police Division launched a public appeal on Thursday afternoon to hunt down those responsible. Witnesses, motorists with dash cam footage and anyone with information are urged to get in touch.

Officers stressed that those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers.

Detective Constable William Birse said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have any information to come forward. We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or any other private footage from the area.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1981 of July 13 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
