Police say a man was stabbed during a robbery early Sunday at a Red Line station in the Loop, but the CTA says it has reviewed video and has found no evidence of the attack there.
The man, 44, was standing on the platform about 2:30 a.m. in the 100 block of North State Street when he was approached by four people, according to Chicago police. The man was stabbed several times and robbed, police said.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, officials said.
The CTA later released a statement saying it has reviewed video at the station and “has found no evidence of this incident occurring at the station or on CTA property.”
The agency added that it “continues to assist CPD in its investigation of the incident.”
A night earlier near the same station, a 30-year-old woman was shot in the knee on a Red Line train after getting into an argument with someone.
No one was in custody for either attack.
A Sun-Times analysis earlier this summer found violence on CTA property has reached its highest level since 2011.
