Man spotted blocking traffic by sitting on chair in middle of busy road

An unusual scene played out on a busy street last night when a member of the public was spotted sitting on a chair in the middle of the road. The strange occurrence was caught by onlookers yesterday evening on Patrick Street in Cork, Ireland.

Gardai responded to reports of a man sitting quite the thing on a chair in the middle of a busy thoroughfare of the city centre, blocking oncoming traffic, reports CorkBeo.

By around 6pm, cars eventually started steering around the man chilling on the busy junction. A spokesperson for the force said they were aware of the incident that took place on one of the city's biggest shopping areas.

As they arrived the man had already vanished and no 'disturbance' remained in the location.

They said: "Gardaí received a report of a disturbance on Patrick Street, Cork City at approximately 6:20pm yesterday, Wednesday, 3rd May 2023.

"Upon arrival by Gardaí there was no disturbance in the area."
