A man is in hospital after being slashed in the face by a machete-wielding thug at a bus stop on the outskirts of London.
The victim, in his 30s, was at a bus shelter in London Road, Bracknell, when he was violently attacked around 1.20pm on Wednesday.
He sustained a stab wound to his face and was rushed to hospital, where he remained on Friday.
His injuries were described as “non-life-threatening”.
Thames Valley Police confirmed a 42-year-old man from Bracknell was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has since been released on police bail.
The victim and suspect are understood to know each other, and police described the attack as “targeted”.
Supt Andy Cranidge, the local policing area commander for Bracknell & Wokingham said: “I know that incidents such as this cause concern in our local communities, but I would like to reassure the public that we believe that the victim and offenders were known to each other and this was a targeted attack.
“We have made an arrest, and our investigation is progressing. The man has since been bailed to return to police at a later date.
