Man shot dead by police after crash near Yass had firearms offences on his record

A man who was fatally shot after allegedly aiming a loaded rifle at officers was known to police and had firearms offences on his record.

Police were called to Corringle Lane at Rugby, about 84 kilometres north of Yass in the NSW Southern Tablelands, about 2.50pm on Sunday, October 4, after a Chrysler station wagon crashed into a tree and went into a ditch.
