Man seriously injured in Leeds hit-and-run as road remains closed

A man has suffered serious injuries following an early morning hit-and-run in Leeds.

The man has since been taken to hospital with his injuries. West Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to help track the driver down.

Officers received a report at 6.46am earlier today (June 3), from Yorkshire Ambulance Service, who were treating a man found injured on Roseville Road, Leeds. The police's initial enquiries have led them to believe the man was involved in a crash and the driver then left the scene.

Road closures are currently in place while the police investigate. West Yorkshire Police said: "West Yorkshire Police received a report at 6.46am today (Saturday, 3 June) from Yorkshire Ambulance Service that they were treating a man who was found injured on Roseville Road, Leeds.

"From initial enquiries it is believed that the man has been involved in a collision and that the driver has left the scene in the vehicle. The injured man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not understood to be life threatening.

"Road closures are in place while enquiries are carried out at the scene and motorists are asked to seek alternative routes at this time. Anyone who witnessed any part of this incident is asked to contact police via 101 Live Chat or by calling 101, quoting log 329 of 03/06."
