A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a car ploughed into a roundabout in Oldham in the early hours of the morning. Police were called to the Big Lamp Roundabout in Shaw at 3am following the smash. The driver and passenger of the vehicle fled from the scene.
One man has since been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, and another man has been taken to hospital with what police described as serious injuries.

It's understood the vehicle was travelling in a northerly direction along Oldham Road before it collided with the roundabout and came to a stop in the carriageway.
The road was closed off for a number of hours this morning whilst police carried out their investigations. Pictures seen by the M.E.N show the vehicle badly damaged.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who might have dashcam footage, to come forward and report it.
