A man said ‘No comment’ after he was charged with the murder of his wife, Dublin District Court heard.
Stephen Mooney, 51, of Kilbarrack Road, Raheny in Dublin 5 was brought before Dublin District Court this morning.
He was remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday via video link.

Detective Sergeant Basil Grimes of Raheny Garda Station gave evidence of arrest, charge and cautioning the accused at Clontarf Garda Station at 3am and charged him with the murder of Anna Mooney.
He told the court the accused said ‘No comment’ after charge and was handed a true copy of the charge sheet.
Ms Mooney, 46, was discovered in the kitchen of the house at Kilbarrack Road with suspected stab wounds in the early hours of Thursday morning. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
There was no bail application made as the District Court cannot grant bail in a murder charge and requires a High Court application.
Det Sgt Grimes made an application to remand the accused in custody.
Solicitor Phelim O’Neill made an application for legal aid for the accused and handed a statement of means into court.
He also requested that his client receive the appropriate medical attention in custody saying his client “was seen by a doctor a number of times in custody and concern was raised about his blood pressure.”
Dressed in a black hooded top and light grey tracksuit bottoms, the accused remained silent throughout the short hearing at Dublin District Court.
Remanding the accused in custody to Cloverhill Prison, Judge Bryan Smyth granted legal aid and recommended the accused receive the appropriate medical attention.
