Man's body found on beach triggering mass emergency response

A MAN has been found dead at a beach in South Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to Greenan beach, near Dunure Road in Ayr, at around 11.40am on Wednesday when a body was discovered.

There was reportedly a mass emergency response as several Police Scotland vehicles attended the scene, alongside Scottish Ambulance Service personnel and a Coastguard helicopter.

Police Scotland confirmed the body of a man was found and that there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

Enquiries into the discovery are still ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 11.40am on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the body of a man was discovered on a beach near Dunure Road, Ayr.

“Enquiries are ongoing, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
