A man has been rushed to hospital after a broad daylight attack on a Scots footpath yesterday afternoon.
The 48-year-old was walking on Cowlairs Road, Springburn, when he was assaulted by an unknown thug around 1pm.
He was raced to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to a serious back injury.
Extensive enquiries are now ongoing to trace the attacker and police are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.
Detective Constable Katrina Keogh said: "A man has sustained a serious injury and it is imperative we trace whoever is responsible. I am appealing for anyone with information that may help our investigation to come forward.
"I am also keen to speak with anyone who witnessed this assault or has dash-cam footage that may assist us."
