Man rushed to hospital after blade attack in Lanarkshire village

A man has been rushed to hospital after a horror blade attack in a Lanarkshire village on Sunday night.

Police raced to West Main Street in Harthill at around 5.45pm following reports of a serious assault.

A 30-year-old man was taken to Wishaw General for treatment to his injuries.

It is understood he was slashed in the incident. He has since been released from hospital.

Police are now probing the incident, with officers confirming they are following a “positive line of enquiry”.

A Police Scotland source told Lanarkshire Live : “Around 5.45pm on Sunday, April 3, officers attended West Main Street, Harthill, following a serious assault.

“A 30-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Wishaw.

“He has since been released following treatment.

“Officers are following a positive line of enquiry.”
