Emergency services have raced to the scene of an ongoing incident in Edinburgh after a man fell from height.
Police were called to the the George IV bridge in the city centre, as well as the Cowgate area, after receiving reports of the incident at around 10am.
Pictures from the incident show a street taped off, with officers standing guard whilst investigations are being carried out.
An ambulance was also pictured at the scene.
Other images show a police cordon put up on the nearby George IV Bridge.
Further details surrounding the nature of the fall, or the man's condition, is not known at this time.
The road remains closed and traffic is being diverted up Candlemaker Row.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of a man having fallen from a height on Cowgate in Edinburgh around 10am on Thursday, 17 March, 2022.
"Emergency services are currently in attendance.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
