- Essa Suleiman has pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey to three counts of attempted murder and one count of possessing a bladed article following a series of knife attacks on 29 April.
- The defendant is accused of first attempting to murder his friend Ishmail Hussein at a flat in Southwark , south-east London , before travelling by public transport to Golders Green in north London.
- In Golders Green, Suleiman allegedly targeted two Orthodox Jewish men, stabbing 34-year-old Shloime Rand in the chest and causing a punctured lung, and repeatedly stabbing 76-year-old Moshe Shine.
- The attack in north London was halted when a member of the public intervened to disarm the defendant before emergency services arrived at the scene.
- Appearing via CVP link at Friday's hearing, Suleiman denied all charges, and a trial date has been set for 1 March 2027.
