Man offered puppies in bucket to strangers in the street because he 'couldn't afford to care for them'

A shocked woman was approached by a man with a bucket of puppies who said he could no longer afford to care for them. The man was offering nine puppies, thought to be around a week old, out to strangers on the streets of Manchester.

The horrified woman claimed to have been approached by the man, who also had two large Husky dogs with him, and was asked if she would like to take one because he didn't have enough money to care for them properly, the Liverpool Echo reports. The woman was so concerned she took all of the puppies and went immediately to a vet clinic in the city.

The puppies are now being cared for in Liverpool after the Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary received a phone call from dog wardens in Manchester to say that the puppies were at the vets after going through a "terrible ordeal". The team of volunteers at the sanctuary are now urging anyone with information about the man who gave the puppies away in the first place to come forward.
