Man murdered and found dumped in Meath field named as major probe under way

A 22-year-old man who was found dead and dumped in a field has been named as Mahamud Ilyas.

A major investigation is under way after Mahamud's remains were discovered in a field in rural Co Meath on Saturday afternoon.

A post mortem examination revealed the young man - who lived in Blanchardstown, west Dublin - had been violently beaten to death.
