A man has been left with serious facial injuries following a brutal attack in the early hours of this morning.
The 25-year-old was seriously assaulted at around 1am this morning in the Green Street area of Saltcoats, near to the junction with Vernon Street.
Police are now appealing for witnesses following the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Saltcoats overnight.
"The incident happened around 1am today in the Green Street area, near to the junction with Vernon Street.
"The 25-year-old sustained facial injuries and attended Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
"We are asking drivers in the area at the time to please check their dash cams for any footage that could assist enquiries.
"Anyone with information can contact police via 101, quoting reference 0612 of November 6."
