Man left in agony after doctors misdiagnose eczema – leaving skin hooked on steroids

A man misdiagnosed with eczema has opened up about what he has been through since stopping to use steroid creams - with withdrawal symptoms including agonising pain and "oozing" skin.

Sales administrator Christopher Ignas started to suffer with hives as a result of an antihistamine allergy in 2019.

Then, in January 2020, he was prescribed topical steroids to treat the inflammation, which he claims was misdiagnosed as eczema, but he had no concerns as he trusted his doctor.
