A man who died following a suspected knife attack near a nightclub has been named as Michael 'Mike' Allen.
His heartbroken family have paid tribute to the 35-year-old, describing him as a 'much loved' dog-lover and rugby enthusiast.
The horror incident, which saw seven other people injured, happened near Eclipse nightclub in Cornwall at around 3.15am on Sunday.

Emergency services received a report of a serious altercation. Police were told someone was in possession of a knife and that multiple people had sustained suspected stab wounds.
Mike was pronounced dead at the scene. Seven other men and women were also injured and were taken to hospital. Five have since been released, Cornwall Live reports.
Police were today granted a further 36-hour extension to allow officers extra time to detain and question a man in connection to the incident. The 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Mike's family today issued a tribute. It states: “Mike was simply much-loved son, brother, grandson, and uncle who loved his dogs. His family would like to respectfully request privacy at this time”.
A tribute site has been set up at Bodmin Rugby Club, where people can gather to remember him.
Police believe that some of those involved in the incident had been inside Eclipse nightclub prior to the alleged murder. Supt Rob Youngman said yesterday that the relationship between the man who died and the man arrested is currently unknown.
"At this moment in time we are working to continue to understand the motivation behind this incident," he said. "The relationship, if any, between those involved is not clear at this stage.
"We believe some members of the group who were injured had been in Eclipse nightclub. They were then outside in Castle Canyke Road when the incident happened."
