Police are appealing for information after a man in his 20s was killed in a two-car crash in Barnet.
Officers were called to the junction between Whetstone High Road and Chandos Avenue at around 11.30pm following reports of a collision between a Volkswagen Golf and Nissan Qashqai.
They attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the front passenger of the Volkswagen, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin are aware and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Two rear passengers of the Volkswagen a man and a woman in their 20s, were taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening and life-changing injuries.
Both remain in hospital, but their condition is deemed to be stable.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.
He remains in hospital where he is receiving treatment for non-life threatening nor life-changing injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
Detective Inspector John Millward said: “Our thoughts remain with the families and friends of all the young people involved in this tragic collision at this extremely difficult time.
“As we try to build up a full picture of the incident, we are appealing to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or any relevant information - particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”
