A man has died after his car crashed while being pursued by police near Gunnedah in north-west New South Wales.
Police say officers were patrolling Wandobah Road shortly before 9am when they tried to get a driver to pull over.
When the driver failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated and a short time later the car left the road and rolled.
Police gave first aid assistance to the driver until paramedics arrived, but the 48-year-old man died.
A crime scene was established, and a critical incident team is now investigating.
That investigation will be subject to an independent review.
A report will also be prepared for the coroner.
