A man kept the body of his girlfriend in a house for days after shooting her dead, the victim's family has claimed.

Authorities believe that the suspect killed his 23-year-old partner at the home where they lived in North Carolina, US, before taking his own life.

While an investigation is still ongoing, a family member of the victim claimed that the murder happened on Sunday, February 12.
