A man was taken to hospital after he was attacked in the early hours of this morning at the city centre quays.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was taken to St James's Hospital following the assault, which took place at around 7:15am on Crampton Quay. Hi injuries are described as not life-threatening.
Images from the scene show a section of the footpath taped off by gardai while witnesses reported blood on the ground where the incident took place. Gardai are continuing to investigate the attack.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attended an incident of assault that occurred at approximately 7:15am today, Friday, 16 September 2022 on Crampton Quay, Dublin City.
"On man, aged in his 40s, was conveyed to St James’s Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of this incident. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
