Man in serious condition after e-scooter and bus crash

A man in his 20s remains in hospital in a serious condition after a crash between an e-scooter and a bus.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Great Homer Street after reports of a crash at around 10.55am on Sunday, April 3. At the scene they found an e-scooter was involved in a crash with a bus, at the junction of Anderson Street.

The rider of the e-scooter, a man in his 20s, was reported to have suffered a serious head injury. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed this morning, on Monday, April 4, that the man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Merseyside Police are now appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage of the incident. A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a report of a collision involving a bus and an e-scooter today (Sunday 3 April).

"Police were called just after 10.55am to Great Homer Street, at its junction with Anderson Street, where it was reported the e-scooter rider had sustained a head injury. The rider, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital for treatment.

"A section of Great Homer Street was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, and remains in place while investigations continue." Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage is asked to DM @MerPolCC on Twitter, message Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook or call 101, quoting incident 22000228510.
