A man is in critical condition following a serious assault in Co Kildare.
The victim, 40s, was found with severe injuries outside a home in the Piercetown area of Newbridge on Wednesday morning around 10.30am. He was taken to Naas General Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
A man was arrested as part of an investigation into the attack and is currently detained at Newbridge Garda Station. The scene at Piercetown is currently preserved for technical examination.

A garda spokesman said: "Anyone with information that can assist Gardaí with this investigation are asked to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440180, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
