Man held in Mumbai for making threat call to Israel Consulate

MUMBAI: The city police on February 21 arrested a 38-year-old Haryana resident for allegedly making a threat call to the Israel Consulate, officials said.

The N M Joshi Marg police arrested Madhur Deepak Mohin, a resident of Gurugram in Haryana. He was produced before a court and released on bail.

The accused is mentally unstable, sources said.

Mohin has been staying in Mumbai for the last one and a half months, police said.

The accused had called up the Israeli Consulate from his mobile on February evening. On the call, which was being recorded, he used abusive language and threatened to kill the Jews.

"He told some Jews that he will kill them and that also stated his father was also a Jew," said a police officer from the N M Joshi Marg police station.

The police booked the accused on charges of criminal intimidation. The accused was arrested from west Mumbai. "Detailed investigation is being done," said police.
