HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old man, who is associated with a city-based political party, was arrested by Begum Bazar police on the charge of violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Though the incident took place a few days ago, it came to light on Thursday.
Begum Bazar police said that the victim, a 13-year-old girl informed her family that the accused, who resides in the same apartment, kissed her on the forehead. Following the offence, she informed her family members who approached the local police.
The accused was taken into custody and based on the complaint, he was arrested and sent to judicial remand. When asked about the accused’s affiliation with a political party, the police said that they need to verify.
