MANGALURU: Additional district and sessions judge FTSC-1 judge Manjula Itty sentenced a labourer to undergo 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for sexually assaulting and impregnating a minor girl. The court also ordered the government to pay a compensation of Rs 10.5 lakh to the survivor.
The convict is Shrikanth Hanumanth Hardolli, 20, from Bagalkot district. Special public prosecutor Jyothi Pramod Nayak said that Shrikanth had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl from a scheduled tribe, three to four times in April and May 2019, when she was alone at the shed where the family was staying.
