Police cordoned off a road and walkway near some allotments in Tameside after a man was found with serious injuries.
Officers were called to 'reports of concern for the welfare of a man' near the Ash Road Allotments in Droylsden just after 2pm yesterday afternoon (Saturday). A cordon was put in place at the scene as crime scene investigators scoured the area.
An air ambulance was also spotted landing nearby on a field near Greenside Primary School. A man was found with serious injuries, police said.
He was taken to hospital where he remains for treatment. Police said enquiries found that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
Emergency services were spotted leaving the scene and locking up the allotments just after 6pm last night. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 14:10pm yesterday (22 October 2022), officers were called to reports of concern for welfare of a man on Ash Road in Droylsden.
"A man with serious injuries was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment. A police cordon was put in place while officers carried out enquiries.
"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident."
