A man who sought asylum in the UK has been found guilty of raping a “drunk and obviously vulnerable” woman in a Nottinghamshire park.
Sheraz Malik, 28, had maintained that the sexual encounter with the then 18-year-old victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was consensual. The attack took place in Sutton Lawn park in Sutton-in-Ashfield on 29 June last year.
