Man finds 'terrifying' painting hidden in wall after living in home for 46 years

A man has been left gobsmacked after discovering a painting of an "old man with no eyes" hidden inside his wall. He explained how he was carrying out rerouting work through his hallway when he made the surprise discovery, making him wonder who put it there and why.

Taking to Reddit, he said: "I found this inside the wall in my hallway. I've lived in this house for all of my 46 years. He looks terrifying and he has no eyes. On the back, so faintly written that I cannot capture it with my camera, are the words 'An old man called Energy'."

But while he claims the painting itself doesn't scare him, he is "weirded" out by the idea that it has been lurking inside his wall for decades. He added: "It's painted on wood. It says Fredrick 1972.

It's titled 'An old man called Energy' (reddit.com)

"I am actually rather chicken s*** about a lot of ridiculous things... but this painting, as much as I am loath to admit, does not creep me out at all. It's weird.

"There is nothing malevolent around this painting.... my teenage daughter isn't even afraid."

While he remained calm over the discovery, other Reddit users did not - urging him to move out before the 'spirits get him'.

One user said: "The power of Christ compels you! Have you considered burning the house down?"

Another user added: "I know a good realtor."

A third user said: "Now you have to open up all your walls."

One more user added: "That's some s*** straight out of Ghostbusters."

It comes after a man's life was turned into the plot of a horror story' after discovering a mysterious door in his basement.

He shared how he recently moved into a new house and when exploring the property, he came across a 'hidden basement room'.

However, access to the room is blocked by a metal cabinet separating him from the door.

Taking to Reddit, he said: "The previous owners of my new house blocked this hidden basement room off with a shelf - the door does not lead outside."

After sharing a picture of the door on social media, the man was inundated with requests to venture inside to "solve the mystery".

But he quickly shot this idea down, saying horror movies have taught him better than to open spooky doors.

He added: "My dogs won’t go near the door so I’m doubly not opening it.

"Horror movies have taught me that the questions posed are always scarier and more interesting than any answer I could get out of it, so that motherf***** is staying closed."

Although the door remains untouched for now, he did share his intention to one day open it and reveal what's inside.
