A man is fighting for his life following a serious road smash in Ayrshire last night.
The 47-year-old is in a critical condition after the black Suzuki Swift he was driving crashed at around 7.25pm on the B714 in Dalry.
The smash took place around 600 metres south of Craighead Farm and has left the driver with serious leg, arm and head injuries.
Police say the man was rushed to The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment where his condition is described as critical.
The road was closed for more than eight hours while officers carried out crash investigation work and re-opened around 3.30am today.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle before the crash or saw what happened to get in touch.
“In particular if you have dash-cam that could insist our investigation then please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 2800 of Sunday, December 4, 2022.”
