A man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed inside an Asda superstore in front of horrified shoppers.
The victim, aged in his 20s, was found with knife injuries at the superstore in Wembley, on Forty Lane, at around 5.30pm today.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the man is in a life-threatening condition. His next of kin have been informed.
No arrests have been made at this early stage.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told MyLondon: "Police were called at 5.29pm on Thursday, March 24, to reports of a stabbing at a supermarket in Forty Lane, Wembley.
"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and found a man, aged in his 20s, with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. His next of kin are aware.
"A crime scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing."
Pictures from the scene show several police and ambulance vehicles outside the superstore. Officers have cordoned off part of the store's car park while they investigate the knife attack.
One witness wrote on Twitter: "Incident at Wembley ASDA. At least 10 police vehicles in attendance in car park. Customer vehicle entrance blocked off by police."
Police have launched an investigation and are now appealing for witnesses.
