A man has tragically died following a collision with a vehicle while he walked along the M8 motorway.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning after the as yet unidentified victim was involved in the incident with a blue Seat Leon travelling westbound.
Police Scotland attended shortly after 1:50am, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, the Daily Record reports.

Officers have since launched a bid to trace and identify the man and inform his next of kin.
The driver of the car was unharmed in the incident, but was left understandably distressed and “very upset”.
Police have asked any motorists who may have been travelling in the area at the time, particularly those with dashboard-mounted cameras to come forward and share footage with officers.
Sergeant John Tait said: “We are aware there were other vehicles, in particular a HGV lorry, travelling on the carriageway around the time of the incident and I am asking the lorry driver and other motorists to contact us.

"They may not even be aware that an incident occurred but we would ask them to get in touch with us. In particular, I would ask anyone with dash cam devices to check their footage as it could hold images which could prove to be significant in our enquiries.”
