An investigation has been launched by Ireland's Health and Safety Authority after the death of a man at Cork University Hospital following a workplace accident at a dairy plant in Kerry.
Emergency services responded to reports of a workplace accident at a Kerry Dairy plant in Listowel on Monday evening, as a 62-year-old man was airlifted to CUH after initially being transported to University Hospital Kerry in Tralee.
Matt Foley, who is understood to have suffered burn injuries at the food plant, passed away in hospital on Wednesday, CorkBeo reports.

The CEO of Kerry Dairy Ireland, Pat Murphy, has expressed his condolences to the man's family following the tragic accident.
Mr Murphy said the late Matt Foley was a greatly valued member of the team, and his passing is a tremendous loss and shock to all.
An Garda Siochana has confirmed that a man aged in his 60s was transported to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a workplace accident in Listowel on Monday evening.
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a workplace accident that occurred on a premises in Listowel, Co Kerry at approximately 7:45 pm 6th February 2023," a Garda spokesperson said.
"A man aged in his 60s was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained as a result of this incident. He has since passed away.
"A file will be prepared for the Coroner. The Health and Safety Authority has been notified."
The accident remains under investigation by the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland.
