A man has died after falling from a Stena Line ferry in Dumfries and Galloway.
A major rescue mission was launched after the incident at the Loch Ryan port in Cairnryan at at 5.50pm on Saturday, July 1. HM Coastguard, police and ambulance crews were scrambled to the scene, where the casualty was rescued by the ferry's rescue craft.
He was then airlifted to University Hospital Ayr, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
