A man has died and a woman is in hospital following a devastating house fire in Falkirk.
Emergency services raced to a property on Anderson Drive at roughly 10.40pm on Sunday, March 5 after receiving reports of a blaze.
Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman also suffered injuries and was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
It is reported that the entire house was engulfed in flames, with horrified residents able to see the fire and billowing clouds of smoke from over a mile away.
Scottish Fire Service crews were eventually able to extinguish the blaze and have launched a joint investigation with Police Scotland to determine the cause of blaze.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a fire at a property on Anderson Drive, Falkirk, around 10.40pm on Sunday, 5 March, 2023.
“Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and a joint-investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.”
