A man has tragically died at a train station in Dumbarton after police officers were called to the scene in the early hours of this morning.
First responders locked down Dalreoch station following ‘concern for the welfare’ of a man at around 3.38am on Monday, February 6.
Paramedics were also called but the unidentified man was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
The station was reopened to the public shortly before 7.30am with all trains stopping as normal, ScotRail have confirmed.
British Transport Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish who the man was so his family can be informed of the tragedy.
A statement from the force said: “Officers were called to Dalreoch station at 3.38am this morning (6 Feb) following concern for the welfare of a man.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are now working to identify the man and inform his family. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
