A MAN has died, and a woman is in hospital with a serious injury following a crash involving two cars and a transit van in the Scottish Borders.
Police were called to the A68, near St. Boswells, on Saturday at around 9pm following a report of a crash involving a white Ford Transit, a green Suzuki SX4 and a white Honda ZR-V.
Emergency services attended, but the 38-year-old male driver of the Ford Transit later died in hospital.
Police said the man's family have been informed of his death.
The 62-year-old female driver of the Suzuki sustained a “serious injury” following the collision.
Meanwhile, the 66-year-old male driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries.
The road was closed for around seven hours while detectives carried out their investigation into the collision and later reopened at around 4.40am on Sunday.
Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this extremely difficult time.”
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw any of these vehicles prior to the collision, to please get in touch with officers.”
“I’d also ask those with dash-cam footage who were driving in the area at the time to review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3354 of 12 September, 2026.”
