Man dies after workplace accident in Dublin

A man in his 30s has died after a workplace accident in Finglas yesterday evening.

The accident happened at around 8:20 pm with emergency services rushing to the scene.

The man was sadly pronounced dead at the premises on Cappagh Road.

His body was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown with a post-mortem planned to be carried out later.

Garda investigations are underway with a file being prepared for the Coroner's Court. The Health Safety Authority has also been notified.

A garda spokesman said: " Gardaí are investigating a fatal workplace incident that occurred on the Cappagh Road, Finglas, at approximately 8:20pm yesterday, Wednesday 6th April 2022.

"A man, aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.

"The Health Safety Authority have been notified. A file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.

"Investigations are ongoing."
