A man has died following a horror fire at a flat in Glasgow.
Emergency services raced to Napier Place in Govan after the alarm was raised at around 7am on Wednesday, October 19.
Fire crews attended and extinguished the blaze, however a 50-year-old man was found dead within the property.
The Scottish Ambulance Services also treated a 56-year-old woman at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Officers say their enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30am on Wednesday, October 19, emergency services attended a report of fire at a flat in Napier Place, Govan, Glasgow.
“The fire was extinguished by SFRS and a 50-year-old man was found dead within the property.
“A 56-year-old woman was treated for smoke inhalation by SAS.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call from Scottish fire and Rescue at 0657hrs to attend a fire in a property at Napier Place, Glasgow. We dispatched five crews to the scene.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 6.53am on Wednesday, October 19 to reports of a fire at a property on Napier Place, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and one height vehicle.
“The fire was extinguished and crews left the scene at 8:35am.”
