A man died after a country-made bomb exploded in his mouth after he reportedly tried to bite into it.
The incident occurred in Bangarupalyam mandal in Chittoor district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as M. Chiranjeevi, a resident of Gaddamvaripalle. He left home after a tiff with his wife and consumed alcohol.
Bangarupalyam Circle Inspector Nagaraja Rao said that Chiranjeevi, in an inebriated condition, bit the tip of a country-made bomb which exploded in his mouth. With the help of local police and the neighbours, Chiranjeevi was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Police were clueless on how and from where Chiranjeevi procured the bomb till teh last report came in.
