A man has died after being found unconscious on a Northern Quarter street.
Police officers were called to the scene on Oldham Street at around 8.40pm on Sunday (January 29). A cordon was put in place on a stretch of the road between Dale Street and Back Piccadilly.
Paramedics also rushed to the scene and found the man unconscious. He is believed to have suffered a medical episode, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.

He died a short time later. His next of kin will be informed, police added.
In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 20.40pm on Sunday 29 January 2023 to Oldham Street in Manchester, to reports of an unconscious man. Colleagues from NWAS also attended, who believed the man had suffered from a medical episode.
"He sadly passed away a short time later. Formal identification will now take place and the next of kin informed."
