Man dead following car crash in Kakadu National Park

Northern Territory police say a 31-year-old man has died following a car crash in Kakadu National Park in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police received reports of a car rollover at around 3am and the man was declared dead at the scene. 

The incident took place along the Arnhem Highway, 10km west of the South Alligator River.

It's understood six people were in the car, and the five survivors were taken to the local clinic in Jabiru with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two patients, a 30-year-old man and and 36-year-old man, were flown to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment at about 9am.

Both are in a stable condition.

Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
