Man curses Storm Eunice as it blows his wig clean off - and he chases after it

A man was left cursing Storm Eunice as it blew his wig clean off - and he ended up chasing it across a car park.

Simon Wilkes was caught on camera standing in a car park when the winds picked up and battered the area.

While a 'huge whoosh' ripped the roof off the 02 in London, a much smaller one was needed to disturb Simon's toupee in Barnstaple, Devon, as it seems to be barely perched on his head to begin with.

In the clip, filmed by his friend, Jamie, Simon can be seen running across the car park after his black hairdo is ripped clear from his head and blown into a nearby bush.

In the video, Jamie can be heard laughing as he says: “Oh he has to chase it down.”

Millions of people were told to stay yesterday at home as one of the worst storms in decades, Storm Eunice, hit the UK.

High winds have seen flights cancelled, hundreds of schools shut, and a number of major bridges around the country closed.

Rare red weather warnings - meaning there is a danger to life from flying debris - have been issued by the Met Office covering much of southern and eastern England, and south Wales.

Gusts of up to 92mph have been recorded on the Isle of Wight.

Hundreds of schools are closed and travel networks are experiencing cancellations and major disruption.

Meanwhile, a TV psychic who didn’t see Storm Eunice coming watched on in horror as her trampoline and washing line was swept away in the wind.

Sally Cudmore’s footage captures the moment her trampoline is lifted up into the air and hurled into a neighbour’s garden.

At first, the washing line is the only thing anchoring the trampoline as it buffeted up into the air.

But then both the washing line and garden toy fly out of her backyard.

Items of clothing can be seen whizzing off in all directions as the trampoline is hurled about by the freak gales.

The celeb psychic, 50, quipped: “Being a psychic… I didn’t see this coming.”
