A man has collapsed and died outside a shop in Edinburgh after reportedly taking unwell in the street.
Emergency services were called to attend outside a pharmacy and a newsagents on Lochend Road South in the capital at around 10.45am on Saturday March 4.
Despite the best efforts of police and Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Images published by Edinburgh Live show a cordon established outside the two stores, as police officers and members of the public gather nearby.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances regarding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, as is standard procedure for unexplained deaths.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.45am on Saturday, 4 March 2023, police were called to assist Scottish Ambulance Service colleagues who were attending to a man who had taken unwell on Lochend Road South, Lochend, Edinburgh.
"The man died at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
