Manchester City will be looking to close the gap on Arsenal to five points as the Premier League when the current Premier League champions welcome Liverpool this weekend. The Reds are slowly on course to recover from their woeful start to the season but are still seven points from the top four but do have two games-in-hand over Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place.
City go into the match as strong favourites at 3/5 with Betfred while the Reds are 4/1 to produce a surprising win at the Etihad Stadium and a draw is 16/5. Pep Guardiola's side are unbeaten at home against Jurgen Klopp's side with the visitors last winning in Eastlands back in November 2015 when Manuel Pellegrini was at the helm.
In the Community Shield, you would have been forgiven to think Liverpool will be on for another title-challenging season after making an impact in the season's curtain-raiser and with new signing Darwin Nunez announcing himself onto the scene in the best way possible. Yet due to injuries and a spell of really inconsistent form, the Reds found themselves spending most of the second half of the season recovering and just about find themselves now pushing for a spot in the European places.
