Manchester City tonight kick off their pre-season friendly as they take on Club America in Texas.
It’s a later start than most clubs, and City have the Community Shield against Liverpool before the end of July, so Pep Guardiola will need his players up to match fitness sooner rather than later.
There should be a few debuts tonight, too, with new signings Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips and Julian Alvarez all in the travelling party. Riyad Mahrez, fresh from signing a new contract, will also be involved, along with Nathan Ake, who has seen a move back to Chelsea fall through.
