City moving on to other key targets after Haaland capture
With Erling Haaland having now been officially unveiled as a City player, thoughts at the Etihad can now begin turning to the rest of the summer. With plenty of other names being linked, it could still prove to be a very busy couple of months.
Haaland was the priority for Pep Guardiola and the Blues, but boosting other areas of the squad will be crucial if City are to compete on all four fronts next season. The question now is, who should be next?
Replacing Fernandinho and finding a new left-back will obviously be high up on the list of priorities. Kalvin Phillips and Marc Cucurella could be the next targets for City.
Fans send messages to Kompany after Burnley appointment
Vincent Kompany is back in England, three years on from bidding farewell to the Etihad. The former defender has been confirmed as the new Burnley manager following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Kompany fills the void that was left following the sacking of Sean Dyche back in April. The 36-year-old takes on the Clarets after leaving his role as Anderlecht manager last month.
The former City captain will now be tasked with trying to get Burnley promoted from the Championship at the first time of asking. As he looks to make a name for himself as a manager, his time at the Etihad will never be forgotten, as made evident by the messages he received from fans following his appointment.
