Man City training squad for Borussia Dortmund revealed including John Stones and Erling Haaland

Pep Guardiola has no new injury concerns ahead of Manchester City's Champions League trip to Borussia Dortmund this week.

City beat Brighton 3-1 on Saturday, with John Stones back in the matchday squad for the first time in five games. He didn't get on the pitch as Brighton threatened a second-half comeback, but his return following a hamstring injury is a boost for the Blues - and he could be brought back into the side for this week's Champions League clash after scoring in the reverse fixture.

Aymeric Laporte, who has missed a large portion of the season with his own injury recovery, gave City a late scare against Brighton as he took a kick in injury time and looked in some discomfort for the final minutes of the game. Guardiola said he expected Laporte to recover, though, and the Spaniard was part of the training squad on Monday morning before City fly out to Germany later.

Also training was Kalvin Phillips, as he steps up his recovery from shoulder surgery. The England international was working individually away from the main group with a fitness coach, and is unlikely to make the trip to Dortmund despite being part of training on Monday. Kyle Walker was the only player missing as a result, as he remains doubtful for the World Cup - although he spoke last week of his optimism of recovering in time.

Sergio Gomez was part of the squad that trained at the City Football Academy, but he won't travel to Dortmund after his red card in the last game at Copenhagen. City drew that game, playing 60 minutes with 10 men, and qualified for the last 16 as a result of Dortmund's draw with Sevilla.

Nathan Ake was rested on Saturday against Brighton, so could come into the side at left-back in Gomez's absence, or Joao Cancelo may continue on that side with Manuel Akanji looking solid enough at right-back again at the weekend. Alternatively, Stones impressed at right-back in the home meeting between the sides last month, scoring a brilliant goal to level the scores after Jude Bellingham's opener.

Youngsters Rico Lewis and Josh Wilson-Esbrand were also in the training group and will expect to be part of the travelling squad to Germany. Alexander Robertson, who confirmed he has signed a new contract at City, trained again with the first team but may not travel later on Monday.

Man City training squad ahead of Borussia Dortmund:

Ederson, Ortega, Carson, Akanji, Stones, Dias, Gomez, Lewis, Ake, Wilson-Esbrand, Laporte, Cancelo, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden, Palmer, Bernardo, Rodri, Robertson, Phillips, Grealish, Mahrez, Haaland, Alvarez
