Manchester City will pay tribute to the 22 people who were killed five years ago today in the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena.
A suicide bomber detonated an improvised device in his backpack on May 22, 2017 as men, women and children were making their way out of the Arena from an Ariana Grande concert. More than 1000 innocent people were injured in the blast and 22 were killed.
There are a host of events this Sunday in the city celebrating the lives of those who died in the atrocity and paying respects to anyone who was impacted by it. On the day the Premier League season ends, City are no exception.

Club ambassador Mike Summerbee will lay a wreath of remembrance at the Glade of Light memorial in the centre that was opened by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge earlier this month. He will also lay one in the memorial garden at the Etihad, where there is a permanent memorial plaque.
City and Aston Villa players will wear black armbands when they take to the pitch this afternoon for their match. In addition, City's side will have the bee symbol - a sign of the city that became a marker of the resilience and unity of the city following the attack - printed on their shirts.
The club also hosted a 'Manchester Remembers' match at their training ground last month, that helped to raise over £80,000 for five charities set up by the families of the victims.
